Raisi leaves New York for Tehran

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has left the United States New York City to come back to the capital Tehran following participation in the 77th United Nations General Assembly.

President Raisi made a speech at this event, showing a picture of Martyr General Qassem Soleimani, calling for bringing to justice culprits of the heinous assassination of the Iranian commander in particular former American president Donald Trump, who ordered the terrorist act.

During the trip, Raisi also met with heads of state of certain countries as well as leaders of different religions, held talks with some experts in the United States foreign policy and top media managers, participated in a meeting with Iranian expatriates, and made a speech in a UNESCO conference.

The Iranian president addressed the UNESCO conference, saying that the Islamic Republic prepared its own education document based on Iranian-Islamic upbringing without relying on the secular approaches of the UNESCO 2030 Agenda.

Raisi held talks with presidents from France, Bolivia, Switzerland, Finland, Serbia, and Zimbabwe as well as prime ministers from Lebanon, Pakistan, Iraq, Japan, Armenia, and the secretary general of the United Nations during his presence in New York.

His travel to New York has been conducted as part of his administration’s efforts to promote materialization of a fair international system through economic multilateralism.

Underlining that all human beings are seeking justice, he noted that the Islamic Republic backs globalization of justice because justice will create unity and oppression triggers conflicts.

According to the chief executive, the Islamic Republic has maintained its independence over the last four decades and it will keep going on this path in the future.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, Chief of Staff of the president's office Gholam Hossein Esmaili, Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s parliament Vahid Jalalzadeh, and some others accompanied President Raisi in this trip.
